Goals:
The purpose of this program is to increase PACC coverage in order to include financial offsets due to climatic contingencies affecting agricultural and cattle farming; the goal is to strengthen the incorporation of a risk management national system through the purchase of catastrophic insurance from SAGARPA, covering must of the agricultural ground and rangeland.
Coverage:
The program described in the Regulations is a national and temporary program as provided by the PEF.
Target Population:
States and municipalities deemed by SAGARPA as priorities and eligible for the purchase of catastrophic insurance because its vulnerability and exposure to climatic effects in the agricultural and cattle farming sector, as established in the PACC Regulations.
Beneficiaries:
State and municipalities included in the target population, ground and land susceptible to be protected with insurance so that SAGARPA and local governments have the possibilities of facing its obligations and support the population with losses in their crops or rangelands due to climatic catastrophic contingencies.
Selection Procedure:
SAGARPA will determine which areas of the country shall be deemed most at risk, according to the PACC Regulations, these shall be areas for which the insurance shall be bought, based upon the rules established for the grant.
Information about the grant:
The funds from the Contingency Program shall be used for the payment of the premium when buying the insurance, as provided in the terms and conditions of the PEF; the coverage shall be exclusively for the federal component of the grants allocated by the PACC.
